The England boss said: “No, the players are not playing with fear at Wembley now – we have won a lot of games here. This is just one draw and I think we were unlucky. “But the supporters want to win and when we don’t score they boo and whistle. But I understand the supporters because when we don’t win, the phantoms of the World Cup come back. “I don’t think, though, that the phantoms are in the minds of the players – and for the Montenegro game we were missing a lot of players. We had to make a lot of changes.”
Capello will promote at least another two players from the Under-21s side, who have just qualified for the finals of the European Championships next summer, for next month’s friendly against France at Wembley. Midfielders Jack Wilshere and Jordan Henderson are in the frame.
And he remains confident that England will still win their Euro 2012 qualifying group. He said: “It is early to speak about who will top this group.
“We have to go to Wales and win and then we’ll be at the top like Montenegro. But I am confident. “We play France next and it is always important to win but it will be really important for me to see some young players in this match – two players who played for the Under-21s. “It is really important for them to feature at Wembley, because when you play away it is different. It is a big step.” (dailystar)
