Soccer Extreme : England players took time out from their preparation for tomorrow's Euro 2012 clash with Montenegro to visit the children's ward at Watford General Hospital.
Steven Gerrard, Joleon Lescott, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Ashley Young met with kids of all ages after training yesterday.
The Three Lions stars joined in games with the children, gave out goodie bags, signed shirts and posed for photographs with family members and hospital staff. Liverpool star Gerrard said: "It's a real pleasure to give something back whenever you get the opportunity.
"Football sometimes seems like the most important thing in the world, but when you see children like this in the hospital it puts everything in perspective. "If you can make even just a small impact on someone's life, give them a boost, it's completely worth it.
"You see the kids' eyes light up when you walk in, it gives you a great feeling. "It was also nice to see the nurses and hospital staff who do such an incredible job for the children." (the sun)
